At Sprout Kids we align ourselves with the principles of neurodiversity affirming practices to foster and promote acceptance and self-advocacy. We acknowledge that a neurodivergent client processes and experiences the world differently, and this influences social preferences, communication and learning styles. We advocate for inclusion and the fostering of environments that support all cognitive styles. In therapy sessions clients are facilitated to develop self-awareness in a way that honours their unique experiences, abilities and ways of interacting with the world. This process also facilitates the development of self-advocacy skills and a positive self-image.
